Barometric Prognosticator I
A school needed something interesting and interactive to go at the end of a corridor. Weather seemed a good theme, as it makes such a great topic for all sorts of school projects and steampunk was popular with staff and students.  The installation has a large clock set in a stained glass weather scene and a fold out work surface, as space was at a premium. The sixteen flickering illuminated buttons are used by students to record and listen to their prose/poetry/thoughts.  A sunny, cloudy, changeable, rainy or stormy weather prediction is displayed using a series of frames that move on and off the stage area. Each of these can hold a piece of student artwork representing the relevant type of weather. Flickering lamps indicate rising and falling barometric pressure.
